Garden Tomb

Despite the large Church of the Holy Sepulchre, whose claims to be the actual tomb of Christ are quite strong, this hill to the north of Jerusalem seems to me highly probable as the Calvary where Jesus was crucified. Referred to as "the place of the skull", Calvary certainly looks like a skull and its location near one of the main roads would make it a good place for an execution which was intended to serve as a warning to others.

The Garden Tomb, despite its great beauty, is almost certainly not the tomb of Christ. However it preserves the atmosphere of the tomb far better than the somewhat garish Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and should be high on any pilgrim's list of priorities. The third film shows one of the volunteer guides talking about how the tomb was identified.
