Niagara

Visiting Niagara Falls was a dream come true. Ever since I was so high I had heard about the famous falls, seen pictures of the famous falls, listened enviously to others who had visited the famous falls - and now there was I, standing in awe before them, deafened by their thundred, drenched by their spray, left speechless by their majesty.

There were two things that impressed me most about the Falls. The first was the column of mist that whirled up from the centre of the Horseshoe, climbing hundreds of feet into the air - mute testimony to the awesome power of the water. The second was the Whirlpool, about which I had heard, but whose swirling waters were even more fearsome than I had imagined.
