Midnight Sun

Midnight, and the sun is still above the horizon.

We wanted to see the midnight sun at North Cape, the northern-most point in Europe, but all we got was the midnight fog! Fortunately we had stayed up to see the midnight sun at Mehemn, only a short distance from Gamvik, the northern-most point on the mainland of Europe (North Cape is on an island!)

By Midsummer's Day we were well south at a place called Ballangen, where we staggered out at midnight to see the sun just touching the northern horizon, a sight which prompted reflections on life, the universe and everything - and no, the answer is not 42!
