Martin Luther

Martin Luther, a German monk turned campaigner for church reform and finally leader of the great protest against Roman Catholic corruption, is one of the pivotal figures of European history. Not only has the Protestant Reformation become one of the most influential religious movements of the last thousand years, but his translation of the Bible is arguably one of the most important factors in bringing about German unification - whether for good or ill!

In these films we visit some of the places associated with Martin Luther's life and work, beginning with Eisleben, the town where Luther was both born and died.
