Cremation "ovens" in Dachau camp

Dachau is making a valiant effort to rebuild its image (and unfortunately its right-wing town council is actively trying to rewrite the past) from its sinister history as Hitler's first concentration camp. Built on the British model used during the Boer War, the idea was to assemble all the regime's enemies in one place for better control and re-education. Unfortunately the thuggish nature of the Nazi ethos together with unlimited power quickly resulted in "concentration camp" becoming "extermination camp".

In this film we view some of the surviving buildings of the camp (it was used for two decades after the war as a refugee camp). We also pay tribute to a very brave man who stood up for right in the face of the Nazi might.
