Sigmund's Birthplace

I was surprised to discover that Sigmund Freud, the founder of the modern discipline of psychology, was born in the Czech Republic. The house where he was born in preserved in Pribor - though you have to search a bit to find it, as I didn't see any signposts pointing to it and had to consult the excellent Talking Map in the town square to locate it. (The idea is brilliant: every attraction in the town is given three numbers - 51, 52 and 53, for example - the first of which is Czech, the second German and the third English. Type in the appropriate number and you get a dramatised account of whatever it is that is notable about that place. Don't try it at night, however: after 9.00 pm the thing falls silent to avoid annoying the neighbours!)

Just in case you think I am being a bit of a vandal by sitting on the great man's monument, an inscription on the bronze encourages passers-by to sit down and meditate a bit, so I figured that sitting down and talking wouldn't be desecration.

And the phobias? Well, you'll have to watch the film to find out about them.
