Ty Dduw - the house of God: Derwen's unused church

There is nothing in the sign point off the road to "Derwen" to indicate that the village is anything special and the narrow lane that drops down to the stream and climbs steeply up the other side to the village is far from special. Nevertheless, when you get into the village you discover that the churchyard houses the finest mediaeval preaching cross in Denbighshire.

The cross isn't actually a cross and despite what the experts say, I disagree about their description of one of the scenes carved on the cross. In this film I set out the reasons for my temerity.
