My visit to Lichfield was most fortuitously timed, for I was there on a Wednesday and on the preceeding Sunday the Lichfield Angel had gone on display for the first time!

St Chad was one of the great Celtic missionary saints and sometime I hope to tell you the story of his remotest foundation. In the meantime, this is the place where his memory is most honoured, with a church, a cathedral and a holy well all named after him. Both church and cathedral were busy with services when I visited and in both I was made most welcome. I can heartily recommend both as places to visit, say a prayer and leave an offering.
