Lambeth Parish Church

Lambeth Palace and parish church

I first visited this church about thirty years ago, having heard of the curious font it possesses. I was most disappointed to find it closed and boarded up, but thrilled when I stumbled across the tomb of a notorious sea captain while walking around in the graveyard to see if there were any windows I could peer through.

Since then the church has taken on a new lease of life as the Museum of Gardening History, with a fascinating range of objects on display. The Knot Garden outside the church, although a little ragged in mid-winter (note the clouds of foggy breath Anne blows!) is a delight in summer when you can take your tea in the open air.
