Devon is a beautiful county, attractive both for its rolling scenery and for the accent of the locals, which is entrancing. Located in the far south-west of England, Devon and Cornwall made up one of the last strongholds of the British against the invading Anglo-Saxons; today they face an even more devastating invasion as holiday-makers and retired folk pour in, pushing up house prices and swamping the local culture.
Our first film comes from the market town of Tiverton, which has a special resonance for me.
