Street Entertainers

For many years Chester was home to an old woman who sat, day after day, squeezing a melodeon back and forth with no attempt at playing a tune. Those who donated either did so out of pity or in the hope that she would be satisfied and cease the dreadful noise!

I haven't seen her for years, and street entertainers have come a long way since then: jugglers, escapologists, street artists, musicians of all sorts, painters, face painters and so on. I believe that these "street artists" are all licenced by the local council and only a limited number are allowed at any one time.

In this film we take a peek at a variety of these individuals, including one very strange chap whose "act" was to stand stock still - though as the last scene shows, there was a way to bring him out of his trance!
