The book of Daniel is one of the most interesting in the Old Testament. Set in a turbulent period of history that has many similarities to our own day - the collapse of a great empire; suddenly free nations scrambling to set up their own spheres of influence; turmoil in the Middle East, complete with terrorists! - Daniel's faithfulness in adversity has a lot to tell us about loyalty to God.

In addition, there are prophecies that appear to reach down to our own day but whose meaning is not immediately apparent.
