Calcutta - Lord Jagenath

You have all heard of big trucks being described by this term, but probably you did not know that it comes from the huge mobile temple of an Indian god. The image is a rather shapeless lump of wood with a face painted on it, and once a year it is hoisted into the huge shrine and carted off to visit the god's wife. Poor fellow only gets to stay a week, and then he's hauled back again for another 51 weeks of frustrated abstinence.
