Flintshire

Some would say that Flintshire isn't really part of Wales; after all, most of it lies to the east of Offa's Dyke. Nonetheless, it is firmly on the Welsh side of the modern border and Welsh place names abound in the county. It is a pity that the county town goes by its unattractive English name - Mold - instead of the Welsh Yr Wyddgrug, which although unpronounceable, means "the heather bush".
