The beautiful parish church at Blythburgh.

Blythburgh, a dozen miles south of Lowestoft, is a sleepy little village on one side of the busy main road and with its parish church on the other side. It stands on a slight eminence overlooking a wide, muddy estuary which was once the scene of a ferocious battle between Penda, the indomitable old pagan, and the newly Christian King Anna. Today it is chiefly famous because of its beautiful old church with a splendid "angel ceiling".

The church has a number of other curiosities which are not mentioned in this short film, so if ever you are in Suffolk, make sure that you visit it.
