Whittington Casle

	Whittington is one of the most picturesque castles in the Borders

Every English child knows the old legend about Dick Whittington, who set out for London to make his fortune - but fortunes are not so easily made. Overcome by discouragement and homesickness, Dick set out for home, but as he left he heard the church bells ringing and they seemed to say, "Turn again, Dick Whittington, thrice Lord Mayor of London."

The story goes that Dick did turn back and did eventually become Lord Mayor of London three times.

Dick was an historical character, as his tomb is in one of the London churches, but there are several contenders for the "Whittington" from which he came. This film tells you about one of them.
