Acton Burnell

	St Mary's church, Acton

I have frequently seen signs pointing off to Acton Burnell castle, but only this weekend have I had the time to visit the place. Architecturally, the "castle" is a bit of a disapointment, but if you are interested in history, there is plenty of interest in the castle and the church. After all, this is believed to be the place where the first parliament met (provided, of course, that you ignore Simon de Montfort's parliament - as he is a hero of mine, I prefer to ignore Acton Burnell's parliament).
