Christmas

Despite the sharp wind and a distinct nip in the air, crowds turned out to watch the official turning on of Rhyl town Christmas tree. The mayor, the official "turner onner", was assisted by a young competition winner and by his chaplain, who had quite a line of bad jokes!"

Then we were drummed off the square and down to the main shopping precinct for the premiere of a brand new carol that, in my opinion, had quite a catchy tune!

The following Sunday Rhyl Cytun - Churches Together - held its annual Advent Service, of which this is but a precis. Local school choirs sang, the Salvation Army band gave an upbeat rendition of familiar carols, and a Christmas tree was decorated in a meaningful way.
