Walking the Cross

Wales is a place where ramblers and hikers are two a penny and the roads are awash with individuals in anoraks and backpacks, but even so it's not often that you see someone striding along with their backpack strapped to a huge wooden cross!

Well, that was what I saw on the road just north of Welshpool, so naturally I had to stop and make enquiries. I hope you will be as interested as I was in the explanation.
