Line dancing

No matter how rugged the scenery, north Wales is not exactly the wild west - yet the Wild West (notice the capitals) does appear to flourish up here. There is an annual convention in Prestatyn when the streets are suddenly full of men in Texan hats doing their best to overlay a cowboy drawl on a Brummie accent, and crinoline-clad city girls from Manchester whose English complexion gives a whole new meaning to the term "pale face"!

Line dancing, which is an American form of terpsichore, is quite popular and we were very grateful for permission to film a club meeting in Ty Newydd Community Hall, Rhyl. If you have never tried line dancing, have a look at this film and then go find a club: it's good exercise and the social life is great.
